The Approval Workflow is a key concept in PolicyStat, and the role of Approvers are essential to the process.
- Open the pending or active document:
- Search and locate the Active document or Search under the Pending Approval page.
- From the Requiring Approval report on the PolicyStat home page.
- Open using the link in the notification email.
- Review the policy content. If you are uncertain about changes and would like to discuss with others, consider using the PolicyStat comments and collaboration feature to discuss with others.
- For more, see this article: Can I Invite Others to Collaborate on a Policy?
- Click the Edit or Review (seen on Active documents Due for Review) link in the toolbar. This will create a new Draft version of the document.
- Modify the content and/or properties as desired.
NOTE: Any edits and/or comments will become part of the historical record of this version of the policy, and are visible to any user with editing/approving rights on the policy.
- Click the Start Approvals button in the toolbar.
- Provide a summary of your changes and begin the approval process.
- Starting the approval process sends it back to the very first Approver in the workflow.
- If you are the first required approver you will see the Mark My Approval checkbox marked by default otherwise, it will not appear. If you do not wish to approve the document at that time, unchecking the box will leave the document in your approval queue and it will not yet advance to the next required approver. You can approve the document later when ready.
- Starting the approval process sends it back to the very first Approver in the workflow.
