A PolicyStat ID is a unique identifier assigned to each version of a document. It is located in the header of each policy.

Answer:

In short, no.

Let's review this through an example. 

Current Version

The current, active version of the Hand Hygiene policy is assigned the PolicyStat ID number 5529288.

The Hand Hygiene policy is now due for review. The assigned Owner of the policy creates a new draft, makes a few modifications, and starts the approval process.

Pending Version, New ID

As the policy pends for approval, the new version of the policy will be assigned the PolicyStat ID number 5534271. With the new version of the policy, the ID number has changed.

This ID number will remain with this version of the policy:

• When it becomes Active (completes the Workflow)
• If it is scheduled to become effective at a later time
• If it is retired or replaced by a new version

Edits Made, New Version, New ID

As the policy pends for approval through the Approval Workflow process, if an Approver makes edits or changes, this creates a new draft. The new draft is a new version of the policy. When the Workflow is restarted, the new pending version will be assigned a new ID number.
