Objective
To disable the option to export documents to Microsoft Word
Environment
PolicyStat
Procedure
By default, policies can be created or edited via the PolicyStat Editor.
Exporting to Word to edit your policies is not considered best practice since often users will modify content in Word in a way that is not able to be converted back into the PolicyStat Editor as desired. If desired, Site Administrators can remove the ability for their users to export to and re-upload policies from Word documents.
- Navigate to the Admin Console from the Manage menu in the top navigation
- Click Site Configuration under the Configuration column.
- Click the Other tab.
- Locate and deselect the checkbox next to Enable Edit with Word.
- Click the Save Changes button.
- Users in the site with elevated permissions will no longer see the options to Create a draft from upload or Export to Word or Upload from Word in the Editor. There is not an option to make this selective for specific users.
If the ability to Edit in Word is enabled, all users with elevated permissions will have the ability to create/upload from Word or Export to Word.
