Below is a list of the 4 status values that can be used when a Task is created. The value assigned will enable the User to understand the current status of the Task and be able to adjust to the next appropriate value if required.
1. New
Meaning: The Task has just been created and has not yet been reviewed or acted upon.
When to Use: Immediately after Task creation. Before any assignment or planning has begun.
2. Open
Meaning: The Task is active and work is either in progress or ready to begin.
When to Use: After the Task has been reviewed and assigned. When someone is actively working on it or it's ready to be worked on.
3. Pending
Meaning: The Task is temporarily on hold, waiting for some condition to be met (e.g., approval, input, external dependency).
When to Use: When the Task cannot proceed due to a blocker. While waiting for a response, resource, or prerequisite.
4. Complete
Meaning: The Task has been finished and no further action is required.
When to Use: After all work is done and verified. When The task has met its objectives and passed any necessary reviews.
