Objective
This How-to Guide will walk you through the process of creating a oneSOURCEdocs.com Icon for your computer, containing your oneSOURCEdocs.com username and password.
Environment
oneSOURCE Document Site/Manufacturer Guidelines
Procedure
- Using the formula URL: http://onesourcedocs.com/?un=<username>&pw=<password>, create a Custom Username and Password Specific URL in a text document using the username and password that has already been assigned to your account. This is the same username and password you would use to log into www.onesourcedocs.com directly.
- In this example, the Username is ‘ExampleFacility’ and the password is‘Test123’ Create your URL in a text program by replacing <username> with the username that was provided for you and <password> for the password that has been provided for you. As seen here:
- You have now made your custom oneSOURCEdocs.com URL, copy and paste your new URL into a Web Browser to verify it works (oneSOURCEdocs.com recommends using Google Chrome) Once navigated to your new URL Successfully, you should be successfully Logged in and see your Facilities name in the upper left corner with a “Log Out” link next to it like so:
- If you were not automatically logged in, this means something in your custom URL is not correct. Please check all spellings in the URL you created and try again. If all spellings appear to be correct, go directly to oneSOURCEdocs.com and verify you have the correct username and password by logging in there. If you cannot log in directly at www.oneSOURCEdocs.com you do not have the correct Username and Password. Use the ‘Forgot Password’ link to recover your lost password.
- Once you have a verified custom URL you are ready to create the Desktop Shortcut
- Right click on your desktop (computer wall paper)
- Left Click on “New”
- Left click on “Shortcut”
- Fill in the box with your custom URL
- Fill in the box with ‘oneSOURCEdocs’
- Click “Finish”
- You should now have an icon on your desktop labeled ‘oneSOURCEdocs’
Note: Your icon will vary depending on which web browser your computer is set to use as default (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) - Right-click on this new icon and choose Properties
- In the URL box you will see Windows cut out some of our custom URL like this:
- Simply replace what’s in the URL field with the Custom URL, click Apply :
- Save the icon in the email that was sent to you somewhere on your computer
- Click Change Icon
- Browse to where you saved the Icon
- Select the Icon and “Open”
- Choose OK
- Choose Apply and OK
- You should now be able to double-click this icon and be brought directly to the oneSOURCEdocs.com website
