What is an Area Manager?
The Area Manager role is one of the primary user roles assigned on a user permissions page. Access to this role can be assigned for individual Areas or across an entire site using the "Can Create, Edit, and Manage Policies" option. PolicyStat Roles build on top of each previous permission level, so not only does an Area Manager have the ability to create an edit, like an Area Editor, they also have the ability to view restricted policies.
What does it mean to Manage Policies?
At first glance, the Area Manager role looks very similar to the Area Editor role with its ability to create and edit policies for any assigned Area, but the ability to manage policies opens up a wealth of reporting and policy control options.
The additional actions and responsibilities include:
- A subscription to receive all notifications for the all policies in Areas where they have this permission.
- Can assign and report on policy acknowledgments
- Can create, edit and view user groups
- Cannot create user groups if the organization is integrated with AD and utilizing Smart Groups
Each of the additional options will be explored in greater depth in this training path.
